The Ballona Wetlands Interim Management and Stewardship Subcommittee meets periodically to provide a forum for non-governmental organizations, land owners and the public to initiate a constructive dialogue with the Coastal Conservancy, the Department of Fish and Game and the State Lands Commission on the nature of interim management and stewardship activities. Please reference the sidebar for links to all available interim management stewardship meeting notes.

Ballona Wetlands Interim Stewardship and Access Management Plan (Draft, March 28, 2005)

The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meets periodically to review the science used in restoration planning and to guide the implementation of a monitoring program. The Scientific Advisory Committee is an interdisciplinary team of scientists assembled at the beginning of the restoration planning process to ensure that the restoration plan is developed based on the best available science. Please reference the sidebar for links to all available SAC agendas.

Project EIR/EIS Timeline

The project partners anticipate releasing the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) mid-2017.  The partners are as eager as the public to release the DEIR but, like the public, want the document’s analysis of potential environmental effects to be as thorough and informative as possible.  To that end, we are prioritizing the substance of the document over its release date.
Delays in EIRs are not uncommon, especially when they are as complex and multifaceted as is the EIR for the Ballona Wetlands Restoration Project.
